We’re collaborating with Disney and Lucasfilm Games on a new story-driven open-world video game set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. This is a lore we love and want to do justice with a game and story that bring both new and lifelong fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years.

As a Quest Designer here at Massive Entertainment, you'll play an instrumental role in bringing the project to life by creating truly memorable quest experiences in close collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team.

What you'll do

  • Designing and implementing quest content in-engine;
  • Collaborating with a large multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative quest experiences that align with & support the overall game vision;
  • Crafting the narrative structure within your quests together with writers & the rest of the narrative team
  • Working closely with the appropriate teams to validate and secure all elements required for your quests (Exotic Gameplay, AI, Cameras, Audio, Text, Objectives, etc.);
  • Constantly push for a high level of quality and UX (accessibility, player comprehension, difficulty, etc) for your quest content
  • Participating in the development of tools and technology to improve the narrative workflow;

Qualifications

What you'll bring

You’re a combination of storyteller and designer but you're also technically competent with implementation and ideally, visual scripting. You have a passion for interactive storytelling and an excellent understanding of the English language (our company language).

Besides the above, we're also looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:

  • A relevant portfolio of your work/content is required (ideally a showreel);
  • Several years of Narrative/Quest Design experience within the video games industry (ideally, you have worked on multiple AAA projects from concept to ship);
  • Experience with linear & non-linear narrative structures;
  • Understanding of the technical constraints regarding narrative design implementation, on current-gen consoles & PC;
  • Experience with Game Engines (i.e. Snowdrop, Unity or Unreal) and/or scripting language systems
