Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft studio in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney. Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Video Artist to join the ranks of our Brand Team. As our Lead Video Artist you will lead, manage and mentor a team of video artists to create outstanding trailers to market our game. You will also have creative ownership of the trailers, with responsibilities spanning from shot layout, animation, lighting, editing and rendering to achieve the final creative vision set by the game’s Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and collaborating in a team of artists with different specializations
  • Prioritizing, managing and planning the team’s day-to-day work
  • Taking ownership for the development of high-quality trailers and cinematics for our game and self-produce/direct when necessary
  • Setting up Cinematic scenes using in-engine tools including camera animation, character setup and animation as well as prop dressing and lighting
  • Ensuring a productive workflow and beneficial relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring deliverables are completed on-time, on specs and up to quality standards

Qualifications

You as a person

You are a structured, quality-conscious and a results-oriented Lead, dedicated to the craft of making outstanding trailers. You know how to multitask and deliver even under time pressure. Your experience within large productions and from leading a team allows you to solve problems on the job and organize an effective workflow. You have excellent communication skills in English (our company language) which combined with your emphatic nature enables you to build trust with your team and the various stakeholders you’ll collaborate with along the way. You have a proven track-record of successfully delivered projects. You are solution oriented and able to dive technically deep while still respecting tight deadlines.

Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:

  • Several years experience working with trailer or cinematics production in a game studio
  • Directorial and creative management skills as well as strong technical skills
  • Documented leadership and team building abilities
  • Knowledge of cinematic language and camera direction
  • A passion for storytelling and an understanding of post-production pipelines
  • Strong experience with game engines (i.e. Blender, UE4, Unity, etc.)
  • Expertise with Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects
  • Attention to detail, focus on quality and action-oriented mindset when it comes to feedback
  • Capability of setting clear priorities in order to deliver on time
