The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Coordinator of Club Sports, Intramurals and Camps. This position will report to the Director of Athletics and oversee the organization and administration of a comprehensive Club Sports, Intramural, and Recreation program and all aspects of the Athletic Department’s Summer Camp program; Manage daily administration of program activities, including correspondence with student staff and program participants. Marist College Athletics is a NCAA Division I program in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience working in a collegiate Athletic environment.
  • Candidate must have knowledge and experience in the areas of recreational sports officiating and programming.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred; required prior to completion of probation period.
  • Must be available during weekend and nights for Club Sport, Intramural and Athletic events.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all aspects of the club sports, intramural and recreation programs.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Athletics Department’s summer camp program.
  • Support and manage the development of the Esports program and partnership with the School of Computer Science and Math.
  • Develop and manage all athletics budgets for club sports, intramural and recreation programs.
  • Recruit, train, schedule supervise and evaluate student assistants.
  • Develop internal media plan to advertise club sport, intramural and recreation programs
  • Maintain and update information on website and social media outlets.
  • Schedule, organize and plan Club Sport travel.
  • Represent the Athletics Department at Open House for Accepted Students in April, New Student Orientation in June, the Fall Activities Fair in September and Spring Activities Fair in January.
  • Select and purchase all equipment necessary for club sports, intramural and recreation programs.
  • Work with facilities manager on supervision and upkeep of fields and other athletic facilities used by the club sports, intramural and recreation programs.
  • Serve on department and campus-wide committees as requested.
  • Develop and oversee rules, policies and procedures club sports, intramural and recreation programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree with 2 years of post-graduate experience in Intramurals, Club Sports and/ or Intercollegiate Athletics (Graduate Assistantships counts as 2 years).
  • Experience training sport officials and/or officiating multiple sports.
  • Experience working with multiple software systems.
