Find Your Dream Job

Make Your Dream Game

If you ever wanted someone to give you a blank cheque to make a great indie game, read on.

Ludare Games Group, an established mobile games studio, is spinning off a new PC/Console indie games division and is looking for a talented team of 4 independent developers to join the team. Ludare is going to work with the team to define the genre and game that is to be made, and then step out of the way and let you do your magic!

About You

You might be a developer, artist, designer, or a jack-of-all-trades. Regardless of your role, you are a rockstar in what you do, and you love to get your hands dirty. You are driven and passionate, and your boundless enthusiasm is matched by an out-of-this-world skill level that makes most people around you go wow.

You have shipped games before. You either have experience building and shipping your own indie games, or you have worked in a larger studio setting and have deep domain expertise in an area.

You must know what causes projects to fail and how to avoid those pitfalls. You must have a clear understanding of what to focus on first in-game projects, how to validate fun, and what to do if you build something and it’s not fun.

You can be a Lone Wolf who is LFG, or you already have a full D&D party of fellow devs whom you work with and would like to explore this opportunity together.

About This Project

Nobody knows - and that’s the best part!

Ludare is not going to define the project that is going to be made. We will set some broad parameters around timeline and budget, and then the team (yes, you!) will decide what kind of game you want to make. We will work with the team to brainstorm, refine the vision, see if the various hypotheses can be supported or refuted by data, and will reserve final greenlight to go.

Once there’s greenlight, there will be a flat hierarchy around the development process. The team will have full control over the project so they can focus on making a dream game without any management types looking over their shoulder.

Compensation

We are looking to offer the following to 4 extremely talented individuals:

  • CAD $100,000 per person per year.
  • Extended benefits, including Health, Dental, Life Insurance, and more.
  • A healthy, uncapped profit-sharing plan on the game project.
  • No mandatory overtimes.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation every year, plus paid sick days.
  • A structure and environment where you are free to work on what you love while living your lives to the fullest.

What's the Catch?

All good things happen in Canada - and this is no exception.

While we love to work with devs from all over the world, we are only able to extend this opportunity to residents of Canada, or devs that are willing to move to the coldest country in the world. We have a very high quality of life in Canada, have free universal healthcare, some of the most gorgeous natural vistas in the world, and hey - not all parts of Canada are that cold, including where our HQ is in Vancouver. If you’re the right candidate, we will sponsor your Visa.

You’re welcome to work with us out of our HQ in beautiful Vancouver, where the ocean meets the mountains - or skip the urban life altogether and choose the high quality-of-life and lower cost-of-living experiences offered by gorgeous towns such as Victoria (a 35 minutes hop from our HQ) or Halifax (a 7 hours flight from our HQ). If you really feel like it, you can even work from the North Pole, as long as you have a good WiFi connection and won’t miss daily stand-ups. And yes, we consider the North Pole to be owned by Canada, and Santa Clause was declared a Canadian Citizen, with an official postal code of H0H 0H0.
