We’re looking for a creative, passionate and original Narrative Designer to join our team on a 3 year fixed term contract! You will be responsible for the perfect integration of gameplay with story, tone, dialogue, characters and themes.

Responsibilities

  • Champion all aspects of the narrative: storyline, character, plot, theme
  • Act as the in house lead and guide/mentor junior members of the team
  • Collaborate with writers and game designers to seamlessly wed the gameplay and story content together
  • Work closely with artists and level designers to deliver environmental storytelling
  • Blend PvP, PvE and multiple storylines together
  • Create cinematics with artists and the Director
  • Responsible for receiving feedback from the team and using this improve the narrative
  • Help develop trans-media storytelling material and story-driven marketing assets
  • Maintain live design documents and communicate them to the team

Required Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of interactive storytelling
  • Outstanding skill in writing scripts, concepts, briefs, presentations, marketing assets, UI text, audio logs, cut-scenes, storyboard text, and motion capture scenes
  • Experience working on one AAA title from start to finish
  • A critical understanding of dialogue and scriptwriting
  • Experience with design and script documentation
  • Experience with UE4 and scripting
  • Overseeing text and audio assets
  • The ability to create game environments, characters, weapons and vehicles
  • The ability to write concept briefs for all other disciplines

Desirable:

  • Experience writing, casting and directing actors including mocap.
  • Presentation skills
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Experience with source-control applications (e.g. Perforce)
  • Experience with JIRA or Clickup
  • An all-consuming passion for video games and stories.
