We're looking for a Junior Programmer to join our development team, working alongside Rare. You will be joining a talented cross discipline team and work closely with Rare's Live Services team. As a member of the Live Services team, you would be delivering high-quality tested services to support current and future games.

The services are developed with .NET 6 and use highly scalable databases like Azure Cosmos DB. We're looking for someone to learn both from and with us, and to take an active role in the improvement of engineering at Lucid.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality tested services to support live game service features.

  • Developing new services with .NET 6 and use highly scalable databases like Azure Cosmos DB.

  • Working with game designers & programmers to deliver game features.

  • Writing tests and testable code.

Job requirements

Required Experience:

  • Experience in C#.

  • Good degree in a games development/ computer science or similar.

Desired Experience:

  • Familiarity with automated build, test and deployment pipelines.

The interview process for the Junior Live Services Engineer roles is made up of 3 stages:

  • First interview (30 – 45 minutes) – An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our programming team. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.

  • Second Interview (30- 45 minutes) – A chat with our CTO and Studio Technical Director, to discuss your experience and talk about the technical aspects of the role.

  • Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
