Embedded engineer to be part of a small team of developers focused on making video collaboration an amazing experience and the products you create will be used by thousands of people every day.

In this role you will:

  • You enjoy working on early release components and influencing technology roadmaps
  • You will have experience in designing, creating, and delivering shipping products based on your knowledge of microphones, acoustics, and speakers in the field of audio processing.
  • Work closely with product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed and implemented components.
  • Take ownership of critical software components, with high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and sound software engineering practices
  • You will help prototype and define technology plans for future projects
  • You will evaluate and analyze new embedded audio firmware methodologies
  • You will have practical knowledge of audio streaming processing techniques and approaches for real-time communications
  • You will have a passion to work on new and disruptive techniques such as new digital communication standards, concepts for audio streaming, and evaluation of world-class audio algorithms.
  • Analyze, define, measure, tune, and certify real-time audio systems for forward looking products and user experiences
  • Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Evaluate and benchmark third party algorithms audio performance
  • Generate novel, innovative solutions to some of the toughest problems in audio

Key Qualifications

For consideration, you must bring the following skills and behaviors to our team:

  • 5+ years of experience in the field of psychoacoustic measurement methods
  • 5+ years experience defining, tuning and testing efficient real-time audio algorithms
  • Knowledge of objective and subjective audio test methodologies and standards
  • Proven experience with Audio Equipment including B&K/HEAD Acoustics HATS, R&S UPV
  • Audio Analyzer, HEAD ACQUA test system, Network simulators etc.
  • Experience with defining and executing objective and subjective test methodologies
  • Demonstrated understanding of how end-to-end audio systems work including transducers, audio ICs, acoustics, embedded processors
  • Demonstrated communication skills and experience working across disciplines to drive optimal solutions
  • Familiar with IIR, FIR, Echo Control, Multi mic noise reduction, Microphone Beamforming, AGC, MBDRC, Psycho Acoustic Bass, Microphone and Speaker Arrays
  • Experience in Acoustics and Consumer Audio EE Architecture
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and neural network implementation
  • Experience developing audio algorithms in Linux, Android and RTOS systems for embedded realtime systems
  • Knowledge of telecommunication standards
  • Knowledge of human perception of audio
  • Implementation and verification of algorithms in a mixture of C and C++
  • Experience using Source Control/Project Tracking systems (git, Jenkins, Jira)

In Addition, Preferable Skills And Behaviors Include

  • Previous video conferencing experience
  • Ability to read and understand EE circuits and hardware
  • Experience with scripting and audio data plotting and analysis
  • Firmware experience is a plus: MATLAB, C, Python

Education

  • B.S, M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience as an Acoustics Test Engineer
