The Role:

The Customer Experience (CX) Senior Data Scientist is responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, and communicating results. As part of the CX team, this role utilizes customer, product, sales, and other data to obtain insights and develop solutions that will enable CX to create a world-class customer experience.

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.
  • Work with and alongside data scientists and analysts by suggesting other insights of interest to the business partners.
  • Model and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions.
  • Identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes such as smart meters and geo-location information or social media.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information.
  • Work with the other IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected with the business.
  • Solve analytics problems and communicate results and methodologies.
  • Work in iterative processes with the client and validate findings.
  • Develop experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses.
  • Validate analysis by comparing appropriate samples.
  • Employ the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Masters degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical techniques.
  • The ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets.
  • Strong programming skills (such as Hadoop MapReduce or other big data frameworks, Java), and statistical modeling (like Python or R).
  • Experience using machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical packages.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.
  • Proactive and not afraid to propose innovative approaches.
  • Must be able to work across multiple teams and time zones.

Education:

  • Masters degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.
