Lionheart Games is looking for an experienced Systems Designer (past work on +100K DAU mobile game – or – advanced degree in data science required) with a strong desire to contribute to every design aspect, and who knows what it means to take responsibility and deliver great results. You have the skills and knowledge to follow and learn about our players, from marketing attribution to in-game events, and you can translate that into complete solutions backed by data and process. In addition, you will work with our team to design game systems that boost engagement and lead to positive KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve statistical models to guide game measurement and optimizations, with a focus on non-gameplay systems (player progression, character and item collection, economy, etc.) and monetization
  • Bridge the gap from data and analysis to critical business decisions
  • Provide a data-driven point of view to balance our team intuition
  • Design and optimize progression and other game systems based on current best practices
  • Team up with other developers to build and improve our games, focusing on your design implementation with an incredible attention to detail
  • Keep up to date with industry-related data developments and harness that knowledge for the benefit of our games and teams

Qualifications

  • Capable of translating data to insight and recommendations
  • You understand best practices related to mobile game systems, player progression, and marketing attribution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you can innovate and work independently to deliver results
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations (Looker, Periscope, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with big data technologies and strong SQL skills
  • Great interpersonal skills; humility and respect when receiving comments from your team
  • Passion for mobile games and big data
  • IMPORTANT: All applicants, regardless of experience, must be willing to take and pass a test evaluating your relevant skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater (Masters/PhD strongly preferred) in quantitative discipline (Math, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering)
  • 5+ years of applicable games industry experience in data science
  • Experience creating progression systems for mid-core or hardcore mobile games
  • Experience with or deep understanding of freemium economics (historical and current)
