About the Lightning Pandas

Founded in 2014, the Lightning Pandas are a professional esports organisation who currently field competitive rosters across three leading titles, FIFA, Call of Duty and Fortnite. Following a three-year hiatus, the Pandas returned to action in late 2017 and are now looking to take the organisation to the next level.

About the Role

The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in sales and direct marketing with exceptional relationship management skills; has a passion for the gaming industry and a proven history of developing new business opportunities and building successful partnerships. The Sales and Business Development Intern will be a crucial member of a growing team that will support sales in meeting its objectives and revenue goals.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Actively generate new leads and convert them into satisfied partners.
  • Present partnership proposals and establish cooperative relationships.
  • Produce pre-sale documents including presentations, proposals and agency templates for distribution.
  • Take the lead in building proposals, bringing together all the necessary elements, including the sponsorship plan, prospect research, coordinating all of the elements of the custom or unique pitch components including concept, strategies, organizing execution.
  • Work with all the necessary teams internally to make sure that the elements of the plans have been properly vetted and approved.
  • Create mock-ups, screen-shots, for polished deliverables to client prospects.
  • Assure all presentations are thoroughly spell-checked, edited, source labeled and updated with the latest research data.
  • Maintain and update database of industry research for presentation use.
  • Works with other members of the sales team to strategize and prepare alternative rights and asset packages for consideration.
  • Attend local meetings when requested to assist with clients.
  • Help build authentic relationships by planning and occasionally attending events.


  • Casual or Avid Gamer with passion and understanding of the gaming audience and culture.
  • Excellent internet search skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly analyse and summarise research findings.
  • Ability to work well with others in high-energy environment with minimal supervision
  • Expert-level knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel. Photoshop and video-editing software knowledge a plus.
  • Previous sales or agency experience not required but ideal.
  • Knowledge and understanding of third party research tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of market research.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, flexible, and highly motivated.
  • Esports experience a plus.
  • Video game industry experience a plus.
  • Casual or Avid Gamer with passion and understanding of the gaming audience and culture.
