The assistant Esports coach is responsible for the instruction and supervision of Overwatch student athletes. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide individual and team instruction, skill development, techniques, conditioning and preparation for the team members. The assistant coach is expected to demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct becoming of the coaching profession. The assistant coach is expected to annually review any rule changes relative to Esports, and to always adhere to all rules, regulations and policies of the NACE and its conference. Qualifications include a successful background in coaching, preferable at the college level and collegiate / pro / semi-pro playing experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the Overwatch team.

Teach the fundamentals of Overwatch.

Teach the strategies of Overwatch.

Stay current with the game’s meta as well as its pro-scene.

Utilize assessment results in decision-making to strengthen services, programs / learning outcomes.

Conduct all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in compliance with LVC policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Successful background in coaching, preferable at the college level.
Collegiate/Pro/Semi-Pro playing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens) and visual ability to supervise athletes indoors and outdoors. This position regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either in person or by phone. Working environment includes primarily indoor work. Physical requirements include: standing, sitting, walking, running, bending, stooping, hand/eye coordination, finger dexterity and reaching overhead. This position also requires substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers repetitively.
