We’re looking for a Gameplay Programmer to join us on current and future projects.

At Krillbite Studio, our goal has always been to create bold, meaningful experiences that matter to us as individuals and push the boundaries of the medium.

As a Gameplay Programmer, you will will work closely with the game designers and game director. You will be responsible for realizing designs from concept to final feature. You have a good sense for game feel and can fully contribute to the entire development cycle; from fast iteration of prototypes, through to the final tweaking and feel of game features.

You are organized and have great communication skills, as well as a deep understanding and passion for video games and storytelling in general. You understand and accept the iterative nature of game development and are always seeking to make a better game. You are also a gameplay generalist, comfortable joining work on all aspects of gameplay.

What you will do

  • Work closely with the Game Director and Producer, to make sure we achieve our creative goals within the project scope.

  • Work with the design team to implement game features

  • Work closely with the Tech Lead to ensure that the systems are built inside the framework of the game and to the coding standards of the team

  • Work with the design team while having a holistic view of the whole game and how it shapes a whole; from gameplay to narrative, puzzles, level design, UI and more.

  • Ensuring gameplay and features fit well within the creative vision. Provide feedback on designs, content, features, and help drive efforts to improve the quality of the game.

  • You are comfortable working with both long-term project plans and concept development, as well as short-term rapid prototyping and production.

  • Document and communicate code systems to relevant members of the dev team

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience working with game design in the game industry

  • Intimate knowledge of Unity and C#

  • Deep understanding and a passion for video games, and storytelling in general

  • Understanding of the iterative game development process, as well as experience implementing features and content

  • Shipped multiple games

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team

  • Flexible, open to suggestions, and focused on solutions

  • Organized and self-sufficient/driven

  • Familiarity with Unity, scripting, and other technical skills relevant to game production

  • Fluency in English

Additionally, these skills are a plus:

  • An interest in games similar to our previous projects.

  • Fluency or working level ability in Norwegian.
