Summary:
As a Software Engineer on Kongregate’s platform engineering team, you will be instrumental in building the next generation of Kongregate — Kongregate.io. Platform engineering is the engine that powers Kongregate’s many initiatives - from our core website and infrastructure, to game and marketing analytics for our diverse mobile game portfolio, to investigating exciting opportunities on the blockchain. Responsibilities:
We don’t expect any one person to handle every one of these responsibilities. We are looking for people who excel in some of these areas, and offer the opportunity to learn and advance in new areas and technologies.
- Mobile SDK development utilizing Unity, XCode and Android Studio
- Data pipeline development utilizing Ruby, NodeJS, Snowflake and AWS Services
- Web application development in Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, and/or React.js
- Extensive use of SQL to support and develop applications
- Full life cycle analysis, planning, development and documentation
- Able to prepare, read and understand project specifications
- Setting and meeting development and production support deadlines
- Interact with various internal departments to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements and inclusion of internal checks and controls
- Analyze and perform system design for projects of advanced complexity
- Help to develop, set, and follow standard coding practices
- Fully documents all programs written or revised
- Problem isolation/determination
- Production support and routine maintenance.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree required or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of experience developing software applications for web and/or mobile.
- An interest in bringing blockchain technology to video games
