Our mobile games, including collectible card game Animation Throwdown, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Madness, and the wild west themed Idle Frontier, have been downloaded hundreds of millions of times!

With 15 years of history, Kongregate started out small and has grown into a thriving business with over 80 employees across the nation in three main offices: Portland, Chicago, & San Diego. We are a dedicated and efficient team that enjoys making games as much as playing them. We measure our efforts through results rather than hours worked, and value the importance of a work-life/family balance on top of offering competitive pay and benefits.

Summary:

As a Lead Data Analyst on Kongregate’s Insights team, you will provide reporting, dashboards, deep-dive investigations, and technical expertise on a daily basis to enable decision-making across business units. In addition to managing and mentoring fellow analysts, you will collaborate with the Engineering team to maintain and design new data pipelines to be used directly by stakeholders such as Accounting, User Acquisition, and Ad Monetization teams. You will work closely with Product to investigate player behavior and contribute to the development and evolution of our biggest titles, such as Animation Throwdown and Idle Frontier.

We are excited for you to share your skills in data visualization and research, with an experienced technical background, and a passion to lead and act as a liaison for the Insights team.

Our ideal candidate is a SQL expert with a love for analytics, statistics, and games.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Game Developers to implement in-game telemetry; explore and validate data efficiently
  • Collaborate with Producers and Product Managers to monitor, investigate, and optimize game systems and features
  • Design, build, and maintain reporting and dashboards for User Acquisition and Ad Monetization teams to optimize costs and revenue

  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other analysts to prioritize and troubleshoot requests from various stakeholders across the organization
  • Guide game teams in proper experimental design, implementation, and analysis
  • Execute quantitative deep-dive analyses that translate data into actionable insights

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience performing quantitative analysis, preferable for a technology company
  • Excellent SQL skills: comfortable with navigating and querying large datasets (ANSI SQL a plus)
  • Extensive experience with Tableau: comfortable maintaining workbooks and building out new ones
  • Research skills and statistical knowledge: provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Adept with data platforms and warehouses: Snowflake is a plus
  • Organizational and technical writing skills: capable of designing and coordinating analytics projects, including in-game telemetry
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets: capable in functions, pivot tables, and analysis features
  • Familiarity with Python: comfortable reading and writing simple code
  • Effective time management and communication skills: prioritize tasks and set expectations to stakeholders
  • Solid interpersonal skills: a team player and mentor

Perks:

  • 401K Plan with Company Match
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance
  • Ample vacation days, PTO, and Paid Family Leave
  • Company wide events, game nights, happy hours and more (all of which are currently virtual)!
  • Build awesome games with premier IP holders.
