Klang is looking for a User Researcher, who is an effective communicator, who has done rigorous, creative, impactful primary research, who are passionate about bringing the voice of the user to life in product and design teams and who are comfortable in a flat, fast-moving, collaborative organization.

User Research is a key part of helping the game team understand our players and their experience interacting with the game, and fits into the broader Player Insights team that covers both qualitative and quantitative User Research, and quantitative consumer research.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with feature teams to identify research questions and outcomes
  • Design and execute studies and playtests that address both user behavior and attitudes, using the right methods for the right questions
  • Generate insights that influence how product teams think about medium and long-term product strategy
  • Directly influence product strategy and design by communicating clearly and in a compelling way
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, including in-depth interviews, playtests, focus groups and surveys
  • Interpret and analyze research results through the lens of UX and social science
  • Collaborate closely with feature teams, stakeholders, leadership and research partners
  • Devise and execute creative methods in getting feature teams, who may not have a background in design, to internalize and act upon the research, particularly engineers and other technical experts

Requirements

Who we think will be a great fit

  • BA/BS in human behavior related field (HCI, Psychology, Social Science, Information Science)
  • 2+ years in applied product research
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of video game product development frameworks and lifecycle is a plus
  • Hunger to learn and grow as a professional
