The Product Analyst is responsible for collecting and translating data into workable solutions. This position will identify additional business growth opportunities, research monetization strategies in game development, and analyze data to support the development of the product roadmap. The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with the Product Manager and global and cross functional teams to recommend data-informed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze consumer market data and prepare reports to help assess opportunities and support marketing strategies
- Engage in market research, analyze and transform data from BI, and communicate market impacts and trends to shape product development
- Prepare product evaluation reports that assess a game’s design, feature innovations, audience, development risks, genre competition, and rough market sizing (and more) for distribution to executive and product team stakeholders.
- Research industry best practices, current feature trends and analyze data to reveal new product insights
- Define and review cohort and complex KPIs and P&Ls with stakeholders
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop scheduled and ad hoc reports from a variety of sources for operations, marketing, and game design
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in a product analyst role
- Very strong knowledge of one or more statistical tools such as R, Stata, SAS or Minitab
- Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and SQL
- Experience with Tableau
- Experience applying data mining techniques (i.e., classification, clustering, association mining, forecasting), statistics and information retrieval methods to large data sets
- Ability to write queries, pull and manipulate data sets and perform data analysis based on large data sets
- Experience analyzing data from a variety of sources and types, both internal and external
- Self-starter, able to work independently with a wide degree of latitude and creativity
- Excellent critical and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proven track record in presenting complex results to users in an understandable manner
- Working experience in identifying KPIs to measure product value
- Ability to evaluate data and information to make business decisions
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask requirements and feedback gathering across disciplines, access risk, define priorities, and resolve problems while meeting deadlines
Preferences
- A Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics or related field, with a heavy statistics orientation
- 3+ years relevant experience in analytics, B2B or fintech experience
- Deep understanding of the gaming industry across multiple platforms (mobile, PC, Switch, Xbox, PlayStation)
- Experience with Vertica syntax
- DWH/ETL engineering background
- Previous experience with 3rd party channel partners (Steam/Epic)
- Previous experience with Google Analytics
- Previous MMO and free-to-play gaming experience
- Knowledge of Wizard101 and Pirate101!
- Product and marketing experience in non-US markets
