We are looking for a talented Technical Artist Intern to join our creative team, assisting us building the best game development framework ever.

Your role within our Kingdom

Aspects Of The Role Are

You will participate in building and evolving King’s internal game development framework and production pipeline, used to create games like Candy Crush Saga and King’s other list- topping games. You will be a part of a highly experienced team, working closely with the product owner, technical director, game engine / tool developers and other game artists.

Engine/Tool Design - Work with developers and game artists on new game engine and editor features and concepts/mock- ups. Also own production of smaller Maya scripts and similar.

Act as end user - Investigate, use, validate and stress test our game production toolset from the art and tech art end- user perspective.

Evangelist - Facilitate the communication with the artists to drive the feature set.

Production - Content creation like sample scenes and art assets and templates.

Skills To Create Thrills

  • Script writing skills in Maya & Photoshop with Python/PyMEL, Javascript
  • Problem solver with true technical art creativity and a passion for games
  • Great communicator that evangelises the technology to other game artists across King studios
  • Strong communication skills in English, written as spoken

The Following Experience Would Be Desirable, But Not Essential

  • Additional software: Spine, 3DS Max
  • Programming/Scripting Languages: C#, JSON, HLSL, GLSL, XML, LUA
  • Experience with 3D game engines such as Unity, Unreal or similar
  • Good understanding of the entire game development process, from concept to live product
