Job Description

As an Innovation Manager, you will be working in the R&D department, at the pulsing heart of innovation at King.

King R&D is a multidisciplinary organisation of gaming professionals (designers, developers, UX researchers, data scientists, artists, producers, business managers) who work together to push the boundaries of innovation for King and for the video game industry.

You will work within the GameOps and Business Development team. Working with developers, designers, and data scientists, you will be helping and leading the planning, implementation, and pitching of new strategies, capabilities and tools that will ultimately benefit our biggest live titles such as Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda Saga. You will also lead the exploration, pitching, and piloting of new future business opportunities for the Kingdom.

Your role within our Kingdom

Working with an amazing and diverse team, your focus will be to help coordinate and execute the innovation process across the Kingdom. You will liaise with key stakeholders to facilitate this process, acting as one of the innovation ambassadors of King.

You Will

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the casual gaming market and the innovative processes & capabilities that can drive engagement and monetisation in our games.
  • Share your insights and product recommendations with key stakeholders across the Company.
  • Support live game teams to prioritise their product roadmaps based on the outcomes and insights of our R&D efforts.
  • Help shape & drive our GameOps product roadmaps together with the stakeholders.
  • Monitor the backlog prioritisation and liaise with stakeholders to update the priorities if needed.
  • Write, collaborate on, and stay on top of clear product, feature, and test specifications.
  • Foster very strong relationships with internal & partner we need to make change and innovation happen.
  • Present key findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise way.
  • Partner closely with game teams and use data to identify, test, and analyse opportunities and prioritise the allocation of our resources towards the best net outcome for King.
  • Work to improve the internal processes and rituals of R&D, helping the other teams to work together effectively and making sure that we, as a group, deliver on expectations.
  • Craft, identify and develop innovative ideas to push both our live games and King as a whole forward - we continuously push boundaries!
  • Become a "black belt" in Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda Saga - you will know both games like the back of your hand. ?

  • Not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

  • Currently enrolled in or completed an MBA program.
  • Relevant and proven experience in Product Management and/or Strategy or management consulting.
  • Prior experience in an industry with short implementation and iteration cycles and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in delivering and improving business models which maximise revenue and engagement
  • Good understanding of statistics, and the ability to interpret these with confidence and drive through your recommendations.
  • A genuine passion for casual games and love for mobile products, motivated by figuring out how to use data to make them better
