Engineering Manager

Job Description:

Reporting to the development craft lead in Candy Crush Soda, the engineering manager will be leading one of the studio’s engineering teams, which produces features for the Candy Crush Soda game at King, with an additional focus on facilitating and improving team workflows and processes within the larger production community.

Your role within the Kingdom

  • Responsible for recruiting, managing the performance, mentoring and coaching a group of highly skilled engineers
  • Help your team members grow their skills and assist in their career development
  • Engage and align with stakeholders, such as production managers and the technical director on short, medium and long term plans to refine the roadmap
  • Coordinate efforts to align the team with the technical direction of Soda
  • Become aware of the high level technical implementations in Soda and act as one of the points of contact in the team for other stakeholders, such as the technical director or shared technology teams within the Kingdom
  • As the leader of the development group, you assist the team to take technical decisions and set goals
  • Coordinate with production managers and team coaches to continuously refine team workflows and processes.
  • Communicate and engage with King’s tech community to understand current challenges and risks and anticipate problems
  • Be an active participant in the development manager group to share best practices and align different processes and workflows across the entire development community

  • Be an experienced developer who is still able to contribute to the code base
  • Be fluent in English, both written and spoken
