The successful candidate will work closely with our Corporate Development Director, who oversees M&A execution, and will play a key role in our M&A delivery and the wider Corporate Development team. The role will suit someone with a strong finance background (5 years + qualified accountant or equivalent) with significant (3+ years) of project management and due diligence experience at a senior level within a Big 4 accounting or advisory firm or industry. The candidate will have good commercial acumen combined with astute risk management and exceptional communication skills. The new joiner will liaise regularly with key stakeholders across the group including C-suite executives and senior external third parties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the Corporate Development team on M&A execution and key initiatives.
Assist and, in time, lead and project manage the M&A process from heads of terms stage to completion and assist with initial integration.
Oversee due diligence and comprehensive appraisal of target businesses to identify commercial potential and risk.
Collaborate with other senior personnel across the group (finance, commercial, legal, tax)
Interview target management and staff to ascertain key information
Identify areas of risk and practical steps to mitigate such risks
Analyse financial statements, forecasts and third-party reports
Strong report writing and succinct verbal communication are crucial
Engage, instruct and manage financial, legal and other external advisers and critically review output
Very capable in financial modelling – both preparation and critical review
Review and input to legal documents with a focus on commercial terms
Any other duties as may be deemed appropriate to the role from time to time
Qualified accountant (5 years +) or equivalent financial qualification
At least 3 years’ experience in a transactions services or an M&A execution role whether in practice, consulting or industry, preferably with cross border M&A experience
Leadership, project management and team management skills essential
Excellent communication skills – verbal and report writing
Knowledge of video game industry is an advantage though not essential
Good negotiation skills
