The Senior Manager of Game Data Analytics will be accountable for the management of the data analytics team. This includes, but not limited to, Game Data Analyst team management and stakeholder management throughout the different departments within Kabam.

In this role, you are expected to establish and drive your team’s vision and goals in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic direction.

You will build accountability within your team as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.

More than that, you will inspire a data-driven decision culture across the organization, and be able to analyze and communicate challenges and business strategies with data.

As the Senior Game Data Analytics Manager, your responsibilities includes:

Team Management

  • Manages, supports, and mentors the career progression for the data analysts by providing timely feedback and feedforward
  • Regularly participate in 1:1s with employees, as well as in the staffing, recruitment, onboarding, and performance review processes throughout the year
  • Influences and leads team to achieve project, team, or functional goals

Game projects deliverables

  • Manages the analytics process and infrastructure across the team
  • Demonstrates awareness of the development teams as the primary analytics customer and supports the game lead data analysts across each game
  • Proactively identifies development bottlenecks within the GDA team as it pertains to project requests and communication
  • Works with the Game Production teams and directly contributes to the design of major game features; Optimizes games live operations and helps steer game development to achieve KPIs

Company data-driven and analytics culture

  • Supports a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization and a portfolio of products
  • Participates in studio-wide product and analysis initiatives
  • Identify and standardize the governance of data and analytics used in support of the business strategy
  • Actively keeps up with industry trends; ensures studio methods and technology are competitive or beyond as related to project goals

Key stakeholders management

  • Communicate organization information to keep the team informed and roll up feedback from the team to the company leadership
  • Works with game team leaders and executives to set team focus and direction throughout development and operating live games, adapting to changing project conditions
  • Consistently analyze and communicate challenges at the company level with leaders and executives through data visualization

Qualifications

  • Solid analytics experience in the preferred industry: F2P mobile Games, Online Casino/slot games, and large-scale customer-facing B2C web/apps development
  • 5+ years of experience translating data to insights to recommendations; ideally has M.Sc./Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics)
  • 5+ years of experience in managing an analytics team of 5+
  • Technical Abilities: Expert knowledge of SQL; Proficient in (statistical) programming languages (Python, R, spss, excel etc.)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner with all levels of internal staff and external technology partners as applicable
  • Fosters a respectful work environment through encouraging collaboration and appreciation of diversity with others in the same discipline, across feature groups, and cross-discipline on a regular basis; works closely with the game leadership team
  • A solid track record of leading by example and being comfortable with ambiguity
  • Outstanding business acumen with exceptional numerical and analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop clear executive-level presentations
  • Experience implementing data practices, developing KPIs, and managing data-driven decision-making across a portfolio of products on an organization-wide level
  • Proven track record of empowering whole organizations to use data by making data easy-to-use, flexible, and as self-serve as possible
  • Experience with architecting data pipelines and structures that can satisfy multiple products and different stakeholders
