We are looking for a Senior Director, Operations to join Kabam's Operations group. In this role, you will be responsible for the Project Management (PMO), Game Development Framework (GDF) and Resource Management (RMO). You will oversee and drive these three key functions across the company as well as having direct oversight of project management within the Company Operations group. Your impact will come in the form of working effectively with diverse stakeholders to identify, synthesize, align and communicate Kabam’s collective vision for best practices and ways of working that will support excellence in game development and company operations.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Work closely with the VP, Operations in the ongoing development of vision, strategy, objectives, KPI’s and roadmaps for the PMO, GDF and RMO functions at the company.
  • Own day to day management and execution for these three functions as well as projects within the Operations group, working with a combination of direct reports and a diverse group of company stakeholders.
  • Build and own the PMO function at Kabam (project management process and best practices).
  • Work collaboratively with Senior DD’s and other stakeholders across the company to identify and align on Kabam project management best practices, KPIs, harmonized reporting and review format/cadence.
  • Strike the balance between harmonization of practices across teams where it will benefit vs flexibility in approach on a project by project basis.
  • Drive adoption of aligned best practices across teams and monitor on an ongoing basis.
  • Mentor Senior Development Directors and work with them, with support from the People team, to develop and grow a strong DD bench.
  • Own the ongoing evolution of the GDF framework, requirements, best practices and review process, in close collaboration with key stakeholders across games and central support functions.
  • Continually evaluate how GDF is adding value to the game development process and game teams, as a central principle of GDF, as well as allowing leadership to understand, evaluate and make business decisions around product progress.
  • Make the GDF review process efficient and productive for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure associate materials, documentation and template are kept up to date on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage operation of gate reviews including preparation and follow up.
  • Assess the project management component of the GDF reviews.
  • Own resource management operations including planning and execution related monthly, quarterly and annual review and planning processes.
  • Work with teams and department leaders to understand and balance needs across the company while staying within established budgets.
  • Oversee and support effective management of projects across Operations functions including IT, QA/Localization/Certification and Product Release Management.

You will bring with you

  • 10+ years experience in games and games related project management including 5+ years managing teams of Development Directors
  • Successfully shipped multiple game titles, ideally in the mobile space with live operations experience
  • Experience with one or more of PMO, RMO and GDF related functions and activities
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills with proven ability to aggregate and align diverse points of view to an align vision and practices. Solid presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating people to overcome challenges in a fast paced, everchanging environment with strong mediation/negotiation skills.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities and problem solving skills.
  • Driven and entrepreneurial, calm under pressure yet open and approachable.
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and do whatever needs to be done in order to make this a great place to work.
