Kabam is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team.

As an Accounting Manager, you will be managing full-cycle accounting functions of Kabam, including running all monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles at the consolidated level and subsidiary level, managing various taxation obligations and supervising AP functions. This is a dynamic hands-on role requiring successful candidates to demonstrate the capability to take ownership of multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, critical thinking, dealing with ambiguity, and the ability to succeed in fast-paced environments.

You will contribute by:

  • Oversee AP function: Manage AP team members, AP cycle from vendor onboarding, maintain internal control over AP cycle, and perform reviewing and approving invoices
  • Review weekly bank reconciliation
  • Review month-end tasks prepared by junior accountants including capital assets, other current assets, and current liabilities.
  • Assist Controller to prepare financial reporting package for the CFO and the parent company
  • Prepare accounting treatment analysis when required
  • Assist Controller to review and summarize contracts that include contingencies and future obligations
  • Oversee indirect tax filing including VAT, GST, PST, and worldwide sales taxes
  • Assist Controller with various tax compliance matters and manage filing

Your background includes:

  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a technology company of medium to large size
  • 1-2 years of leadership and/or managerial experience
  • CPA or CA designation
  • Strong operational accounting experience including managing AP functions, month-end closes, various tax filings, etc.
  • Experience in public practice, especially in pubco audit is an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing or improving policies, procedures, and controls used in accounting systems
  • Strong knowledge in IFRS or US GAAP and experience in US and Canadian Tax
  • Expert in accounting systems (e.g. Netsuite and Concur)
  • Advanced knowledge of formulas and pivot tables, and able to build basic financial models in Excel
  • Communicates in a clear, concise and professional manner with staff at all levels; influences and leads team to achieve project goals; Explains/presents complex ideas
  • Supports skill development for others; inspires teamwork; creates and sustains a positive work environment; mentors junior team members.
  • Collaborates effectively with others in same department, across feature groups and cross-discipline on a regular basis; works closely with leads group (all departments)
