Johnson County Community College is seeking a full-time temporary Assistant Professor for Game Development to teach GAME classes and develop GAME competitive team as coach for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 academic year.

Teaching responsibilities for 2019-2020 academic year include preparing and/or managing course materials and instruction; following provided course outlines and assessing objectives; performing certain administrative tasks such as submitting course grades, syllabi, and attendance; occasionally participating in professional development activities, and meeting with students before or after class as needed.

Coaching responsibilities include Coach position for Esports team; develop team rules/regulations aligned with league regulations; develop player expectations aligned with institution and league; investigate and secure training and competition facilities; develop/manage competition schedule and logistics; develop budget to support team activities; collaborate with local Game industry leaders to develop competition partnerships; collaborate with internal institutional departments to develop institutional and industry competition standards, including scholarships for team participation; develop promotion materials/product with marketing department, and; work with division administration to develop five-year team preliminary vision.

Required Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Gaming competition experience preferred

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or a combination of degree, industry-related training, and industry experience
  • Knowledgeable about Gaming competitions
  • Experience with Gaming competition/team management preferred
