The Sr. Producer is responsible for leading an internal cross-function game team of Designers, Artists, Engineers, and Product Managers; driving the production lifecycle of one or more casual, mobile, free-to-play games. He or she sets up and manages a production plan that ensures internal and external game development resources effectively hit project goals. The candidate must keep teams motivated while ensuring an on-schedule and on-budget delivery.

Additionally, in collaboration with cross-functional team leads, the Sr. Producer develops and holds the vision for the game: creative and business. The Sr. Producer should be able to easily telescope from the product vision at a macro level to the details of any given feature or process at a micro level. The Sr. Producer may also directly manage one or more producers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production Management and Communication
    • Proactively drive production workflows, prioritize and track sprint goals and ensure on-schedule deliveries.
    • Manage product deliverables, milestone reviews, internal and external communication.
    • Facilitate content and feature planning and backlog grooming.
    • Communicate project status effectively with other key stakeholders like Marketing, Customer Service, and Studio Leadership.
    • Ensure seamless build submission to Apple and Google.
    • Accurately manage development costs to budgetary targets.
  • Leadership
    • Constantly strive to improve processes, teams, and the final game product even in the face of adversity and challenges.
    • Organize, support, and optimize the team; knocking down obstacles before the team hits them.
    • Challenge the status quo and offer solutions for improvements.
    • Lead by example.
    • Set the tone for the team to ensure high productivity and morale: engagement, enthusiasm, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
    • Build trust with relevant teams and stakeholders and obtain necessary approvals, as needed.
    • Lead supporting producers and provide mentoring and growth opportunities.
  • Product & Quality
    • Understand the player experience and advocate for excellent quality and usability.
    • Work closely with QA across multiple time zones to ensure high-quality, bug-free, build submissions.
    • Collaboratively share and hold the overall vision for the game with Game Design and Product Management.
    • Proactively understand game requirements: technical, legal, publishing, creative, business – and ensure all incorporated into a balanced product vision.
    • Understand the competitive landscape, analyze new business opportunities and make recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years’ experience in a production role within the games industry orchestrating work for internal and external game teams.
  • 2+ years free-to-play games experience.
  • 1+ year experience live operating a free-to-play game.
  • At least one mobile free-to-play game shipped.
  • Ability to balance project demands with creative essentials. You demand quality; creativity and fun while shill managing project resources and timelines.
  • Solid project management foundation across various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and deep understanding of how games get made.
  • Experience developing free-to-play (FTP) casual puzzle games with data-based decision making and running games-as-a-service in live operations.
  • Proactive, results oriented, self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, accountability and urgency.
  • Strong organizational skills and passion for managing details.
  • Calm and deliberate performance under pressure and strict deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Team player with good people skills – able to communicate and influence up, down and across the organization.
  • Pragmatic: making games is complex, able to prioritize and focus when everything is a priority.
  • Proficient at various production tools: Wikis, Confluence, Jira, MS Office, G-Suite, Keynote, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to flex your style depending on circumstance.
  • Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback.
  • Sense of humor and optimistic approach.
  • Able to multi-task like a pro.
  • Affinity for Disney/Pixar a plus.
