Jam City’s LA-based studio is on the hunt for a talented and experienced Game Director to lead one of our exciting new casual titles in development. As Game Director, you will be charged with shepherding our latest and greatest game through soft-launch into worldwide release and beyond. Once live, you will manage and oversee all aspects of the game’s live operations and feature roadmap to deliver a world class player experience worthy of the Jam City logo!

The ideal candidate is passionate about data informed decision making, but has the experience and creative instincts to know when to put the numbers aside. We are looking for a leader that can partner effectively with Production, Design, and Engineering to craft a shared vision and then represent (and defend) that vision across Jam City’s executive leadership. This role reports directly to the studio General Manager in Los Angeles, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the overall vision of the game. Set goals and direction for product managers, analysts, game designers and other team members.
  • Analyze quantitative data and understand real world and behavioral implications
  • Understand free-to-play economics, the impact of new features, and LiveOps cadence on game economies and player sentiment within the context of the title. Must proactively plan for, monitor, and react to the performance of each.
  • Synthesize qualitative data with quantitative data and develop action plans to improve the game.
  • Drive an environment of constant optimization and improvement in both content and event management.
  • Manage the game’s P&L while executing a plan for consistent profit growth and cost reductions.
  • Oversee and audit the ongoing production processes in a Live-Operating mobile environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be an excellent communicator, both in the written and spoken word. Must be able to effectively communicate vision and expectations upstream and downstream in the organization.
  • 5+ years in mobile free to play including 3+ in a leadership role.
  • Experienced a full production of a high profile F2P casual game from inception to post launch live-ops.
  • Excellent Product Management skills w/ deep KPI knowledge and proven experience shipping features that improve LTV.
  • Excellent design instincts w/ proven skills shepherding high level feature/roadmap initiatives through the feedback loop and iteration/optimization process.
  • Deep knowledge of mobile casual puzzle genre and current competitors
  • High understanding of player mindsets especially regarding user experience, monetization and playability.
  • Highly analytical w/ strong modeling, SQL, data visualization, A/B testing and statistical acumen.
  • Synthesize qualitative data with quantitative data and develop action plans to improve the game.
  • Shipped multiple titles with a minimum of 3 mobile projects released.
  • Team player, comfortable working with designers and business performance professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.
