Main Duties

  • Design and implement new features or identify opportunities within existing systems that target acquisition, retention and value for our players.
  • Create and own features from start to finish.
  • Anticipate potential issues in feature development both before and after release and make recommendations for design changes to Product Director and Lead Content Developer where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to carry feature work from initial concept into the live environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Core Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively and clearly within and across teams, as well as to the game community as necessary.
  • Manage to and deliver on production deadlines in a rapid development cycle while ensuring high product quality.
  • Write and maintain clear, concise design documentation and necessary supporting documents.
  • Give constructive feedback regarding features, either live or in development, and be able to accept feedback in kind.
  • Willingness to accommodate multiple responsibilities and to adapt to a rapidly changing creative environment.
  • Several years of professional experience in the games industry, the majority of which were in a design role.
  • Proven design experience on commerce systems, or experience on reward systems and itemization.
  • Credited with at least one (1) AAA quality MMOG in a design role, with a preference for MMORPGs
  • Thorough knowledge of game mechanics and design standards, particularly in relation to retention and economy design.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the MMOG market, particularly with MMORPGs.
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and application of this experience to feature design.
  • Demonstrated success in development of features, including design documentation, planning and testing.
  • Analytical mind with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborative self-starter with effective time-management skills.
  • Passion for games and desire to create fun and engaging online experiences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Learns new tools, technologies and development methodologies quickly.
