The Sr Director of Cyber Security is responsible for creating a security program to better manage the technical security risks across the business. This security leader will work with all the technical leaders of the business to give them the information, tools and capabilities they need to properly manage the risk of their areas. This role will be integral in defining and optimizing the organizations security strategy, architecture and practices.
Key Duties Include
Leadership
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the Studio
- Partner with stakeholders to create efficient risk management strategies in their areas to ensure best possible game experience and/or business objective can be achieved
- Ensure the Security team is resourced adequately with relevant skills and capabilities to deliver the security program and future security needs in line with budget requirements
- Collaborate with Technology Leadership team to deliver on their business objectives
- Work closely with studio leaders to build confidence, empowerment and accountability in addressing security risks within their areas
- Accountable for ensuring the efficient and effective security infrastructure and game security within the studio
- Responsible for the creation and delivery of the security budget
Security Program
- Responsible for defining a security program which will mature our Security capabilities across the organization
- Responsible for providing summarized visibility of our cyber risks to the executive team and functional leaders across the business whilst empowering the accountable parties
- Tools - ensuring we are implementing sustainable and efficiently across the studio while balance the needs of the tools vs standardization/maintainability
Security Capability
- Be the subject matter expert in cyber security for the studio particularly in the gaming industry and protecting our games, player data and corporate data
- Identify areas for improvement around a cyber security framework and governance such as Identifying, Protecting, Detecting, Responding, and Recovering
- Responsible for ensuring secure application development / appsec is embedded across the org by advising on how to best protect our custom developed systems and games from malicious activity such as botting, account take over, breaches and security threats that limit our games availability
- Responsible for reviewing technology architecture form a security perspective.
- The technical ability to give feedback on the quality of the deliverable implemented by the security team and be able to coach the teams effectively
- Utilize both technical and industry expertise on how to multiply the effectiveness of the overall business strategy
Essential Requirements

- Experience in secure development and maturing developing teams
- Experience going through agile transformations and empowering teams to protect their products and services from bad actors
- Experience in managing a P&L in line with business requirements
- Experience managing compliance such as PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR etc...
- Experience with business continuity plans a plus
- Is passionate about security and knows how to balance cyber risk which aligns to the needs of the business
- Experience in vendor management / negotiations
- Experience with disaster recovery / business continuity plans
- CISSP a plus
- BS in Computer Science or relative experience
