Intrepid Studios is looking for a Senior FX Artist to join our team of talented developers! We are looking for talented developers to join our team in creating the Most Anticipated MMORPG in development, Ashes of Creation.

At Intrepid Studios, we are searching for people who are passionate and driven to excel and have a desire to invest their time and effort in the success of multiple projects set in the Ashes of Creation universe.

All work will take place at our studio is San Diego, California.

Responsibilities:

Work with the Creative Director, Art Team, and Design Team, on creation and implementation of VFX for character abilities, spells, combat visuals and environmental FX
Keep cohesion with the style of the game, to provide an immersive experience for the players
Keep up to date with the latest techniques and practices of VFX

Requirements:

Experience using Maya, Unreal 4 or equivalent programs/engines
Strong Adobe Photoshop skills (specifically for texture creation)
Strong ability to communicate in game actions using VFX
Knowledge of Linear Workflows
Experience with Unreal Engine 4
Working knowledge of node based shaders
Knowledge of Physically Based Rendering
Strong working knowledge of particle driven effects and shader systems
Experience with flip books
Highly motivated
Ability to deliver assets on time and within guidelines
Strong team player
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in VFX
4 or more years of experience in game development creating VFX
Shipped at least one AAA product as a VFX Artist
