Kickstart is a Government scheme aimed to help support young people back into work after the economic effects of the pandemic. It’s aimed at 16-24-year-olds who are not in education and are currently claiming universal credit.

The junior artist's role will be to create optimised, final release quality content (2D and 3D) for console and PC videogames. Working closely with a diverse team of other artists, designers, and coders across a wide variety of creative tasks, the candidate will develop a strong portfolio of essential skills for a career in the video games industry.

The role requires a highly creative, motivated, and committed individual. An all-rounder, with incredible attention to detail and outstanding digital and traditional art skills. Successful candidates will be creating 3D assets such as props as well as 2D texturing and pixel art, so being highly skilled in at least one of these areas is essential.

We use Unity game engine to build our games, so a candidate that can demonstrate technical skill within the engine will be at a big advantage.

Essential:

  • Must have the ability to problem-solve, work flexibly, adapt to required changes quickly, and hit the ground running.
  • Efficient time and self-management skills.
  • Technically minded artist with knowledge of 3D packages (Maya, Max, or Blender).

Advantageous:

  • Talent or interest in level design and layout, as well as, game mechanics
  • This role will be remote/ home working based.
