Though most well-known for stop motion feature films, Aardman has been making games for around 14 years, and moved into console gaming for the first time in 2018 with the co-production 11-11: Memories Retold, published by Bandai Namco. Since then, Aardman have been working on a brand new gaming IP for a multi-national publisher, filled with all the character, humour, love and craft you would expect from an Aardman film. Based in Bristol in the South West, Aardman work from a custom built HQ building with an on-site 40 seat cinema amongst other perks, as well as another base which houses the stop motion feature production. Founded in 1976, Aardman has become one of the UK’s biggest names in storytelling, and sees games and interactive as the future of telling really exciting, interesting, and characterful stories for years to come.

The Role
This role will be supporting the Art team in the creation and layout of art assets for the game.
This could involve creating environmental art assets, gathering references, laying out art assets in a map, lighting, adding post processing and effects, creating character assets, creating block out assets and assisting with terrain creation, and more.
This traineeship will give a good intro into everything needed from an artist for video games.
They will also learn what it means to work within a games team: communication, task management, how to estimate and much more.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have experience with 3D modelling, texturing and experience with Unreal or Unity game engines.
