Into Games is the UK’s leading non-profit for skills and careers in the games industry. We work to make a career in the games industry possible for anyone with the passion to succeed - irrespective of their background.

We are an industry-led organisation, working with some of the UK’s top games studios to inspire and support people who are primarily from groups that are currently underrepresented in the sector. We operate the Videogames Ambassador programme with UKIE, the online resources hub intogames.org and national events like Games Careers Week.

We are looking for a new Head of Brand to be the voice of our organisation and help support thousands of people to get their dream career in video games. You’ll manage a small team of junior content creators that looks after our growing online community of learners, career seekers and industry professionals.

You should understand the importance of brand voice, be detail-focused, and have a clear strategic, data-informed vision for developing creative content with an intrinsic understanding of how to say the right thing to the right person in an authentic way that engages and excites.

There are no specific qualifications to apply to this role - it’s open to anyone, from any background.

Package

  • Highly flexible working hours
  • Generous annual leave
  • Generous paternity and maternity leave
  • Completely remote working, with opportunities for in-person events and co-working
  • Wellbeing and professional development fund for all staff
  • 4 day work week
  • Annual all-company week-long shutdown for staff wellness in addition to leave

Main Responsibilities

As our Head of Brand, you’ll be responsible for all of our public-facing campaigns, ensuring consistency of messaging and tone throughout all our work.

You’ll manage a small team of three content creators who will support you in delivering great social media content, exciting online events and showcasing the organisation’s social impact in a way that grabs attention.

You will have a good eye for visual identity, ensuring our graphics, videos and assets all look consistently brilliant.

You will devise and deliver content strategies based on the hard data behind our communications - adapting and evolving based on what our community wants to hear.

You will work closely with large brands, social media influencers and other partners to devise games careers content campaigns.

This will be a senior role in which you will work directly with the executive team to help make decisions that impact the organisation's mission and goals.

Your first major responsibility as Head of Brand will be coordinating the marketing and content campaigns for our flagship, virtual Into Games Careers Festival in March.

Ideal Candidate

You are someone who cares deeply about tackling systemic inequalities around barriers to work and education. You are detail-focused and confident managing a small team. You enjoy taking creative risks and stepping out of your comfort zone to learn skills in new areas - you love to learn.

You are someone who enjoys practical work as much as managerial and is excited to step in and lend a hand during major projects and events. You enjoy working with people and getting the best out of those you support.

The ideal candidate is by no means someone who has a working knowledge of game development or the games industry - but is someone who can absorb new information quickly and relishes the challenge to develop their knowledge of a new sector.

We are an organisation that puts wellness and kindness first, and you are someone who believes this is a top priority too.

Diversity Statement

Into Games is an organisation that cares deeply about dismantling the systemic inequalities that face many in accessing work opportunities. It is our mission to help build a UK games industry that is fair, accessible, and inclusive. Naturally, as part of this, we actively support and encourage those from groups underrepresented in the sector to apply for roles in our organisation, as well as any others who have faced marginalisation in starting or growing their career.

If there are any adjustments we can make to ensure that applying for this job is a stress-free process, then please do not hesitate to get in touch before applying.
