Our Project Management team at Insomniac Games is growing and we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team. Responsible for anticipating production challenges and proactively drives solutions that enable teams to realize ideas without compromising quality or well-being. Regularly anticipates, forms a plan of action, and achieves buy-in with teammates. A project manager's primary focus is to provide effective planning and structure - create, modify, and maintain assigned content schedules as a member of team leadership. Experience working with combat and gameplay system teams (e.g. hero powers, enemy factions, archetypes, balance, progression, challenges, rewards) is preferred. Please note this is a Fixed Term position, expected to last 12-18 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Drives production structure, process, and efficiency in overall game development.
  • Anticipates and proactively solves problems both independently and collaboratively.
  • Creates, modifies, and maintains schedules for assigned content or teams in partnership with assigned Leads. This includes:
  • Ensures proper logging and tracking of assigned content in bug tracking database.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of game content status and quality levels through regular play sessions.
  • Anticipates scheduling overruns through effective analysis and presentation of measurable data. Initiates action to resolve scheduling issues and collaborates on workable solutions.
  • Proactively ensures project updates and changes are communicated to the development team.
  • Unblocks team members from dependencies of scheduled tasks and facilitates communication between team members.
  • Assists Senior Project Managers and Project Director in the creation of milestone deliverable documentation, collaborating with craft Leads to coordinate goals across diverse disciplines.
  • Contributes to the implementation of new or refined production methods.
  • Develops collaborative relationships across all peers and departments.
  • Regularly achieves and demonstrates Insomniac’s cultural leadership values.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities; however, it is responsible for maintaining the schedule and structure of a project and keeping team members accountable for the project’s timeline and deadlines.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Participation as an Associate Project Manager in the completion of one full game cycle is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking database(s) is required- DevTrack, TFS, Jira or other industry standard. Working knowledge of version control software. Perforce is preferred
  • Solves problems both independently and collaboratively and adheres to the studio’s expectations of cultural leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be able to present ideas clearly and work well within a large team environment
  • Must be a good team leader and be able to make informed decisions to achieve desired results Ability to create and maintain good relationships with other departments
