Your Mission

Infinity Ward is currently seeking a Visual Effects Artist (Temporary) for an exciting unannounced project.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Design and simulate high quality, photo-real effects (fire, smoke, explosions, debris, clouds, etc.) that meet all technical and aesthetic standards for the project
  • Render realistic textures and assemble into texture atlases to be used by our proprietary Particle Editor
  • Prepare assets for simulation by fracturing and modeling
  • Perform rigid body and soft body simulations
  • Composite live action shoot elements
  • Work closely with VFX Artists and Game Designers to ensure all effects will work smoothly within the pipeline
  • Produce look tests based on provided reference materials
  • Take direction from Supervisors as well as provide guidance and mentorship to other FX Artists
  • Use our in-house particle editor to author particle effects and implement them into our game engine
  • Raise the bar for what's possible in a game engine
  • Work within production deadlines to complete all tasks
  • Ensure industry leading quality and artistic fidelity

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • A strong eye for timing, weight, realism, color, volume, energy, and other particle aesthetics
  • Ability to create realistic explosions, demolition, destruction
  • Experience with VFX software – 3ds Max, Maya, Houdini, etc.
  • Strong modeling and animation experience
  • Basic compositing knowledge (After Effects, Nuke, Fusion)
  • 2+ years production experience in video games, TV Shows, commercials, or films
  • Ability to script a plus (Max Script, Python)
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to proprietary tools
  • Self-motivated
  • A passion for video games
