Your Mission

As an Animation Tools Engineer, you will help us design and advance our Motion and Performance Capture pipelines and workflows, allowing the stage crews to spend more time capturing the actors and empowering the Motion Edit and Animation teams to produce more realistic animations with the highest possible fidelity with faster turnaround times.
The ideal candidate should have experience developing Motion Capture/Animation tools & workflows for games, film or similar fields where solutions often require a combination of technical and creative problem solving under pressure. We are looking for someone passionate about taking the creativeness and performance from our Motion Capture Stage and ensuring that it comes through in-game to our audience.

The Animation Tools team is tasked with supporting and advancing the tools used by every animation team at Infinity Ward, from Narrative and AI to Gameplay and Mocap, designing pipelines that are flexible enough to meet each teams unique needs but structurally sound enough to scale to accommodate the throughput needed for production.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Motion Capture team to understand their ever-changing production needs
  • Implementing and maintaining our proprietary Motion Capture tools and animation workflows.
  • Identifying and creating automatable tasks to reduce human workloads.
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal teams to implement new technologies.

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • +3 years of working in a tools engineering team in games, film, or a similar field
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of Giant or other Motion Capture systems (Vicon, Optitrack)
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Happy to work under Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience in software best practices and design patterns
  • Strong interest in tool usability and GUI frameworks (Qt, PySide, PyQt)
  • Able to work under high stress in a production environment
  • Team player with great communication skills
  • Passion for games
