Game Designer (Contract)
Redwood City, CA (can be off -site)
IMVU is expanding its team to encompass more Game design expertise as we progress toward delivering a new project. We are seeking a Game designer to help create and collaborate on game design specs. This role is instrumental in the future design, look and feel of the product release and will interface regularly with the rest of the Product organization and outsourced developers. This role will take guidance from our Director of Product Management internally. This would be a 3-6 month project and is ideal for an industry Game design expert.
Responsibilities
- Write clear and concise game design documents
- Create wireframes and screen flows optimized for a mobile-first experience
- Give feedback to game developers regarding specifics of implementation
- Propose ideas that fit the game’s setting, production scope, technical requirements and limitations
Qualifications
- Experience designing for 3D games featuring avatars
- Experience designing for mobile platforms
- Demonstrated ability to design simple experiences that are both fun and engaging
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others
- Self-organized, self-motivated and detail oriented
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Understanding of teen female demographic (a plus)
- Experience user testing with paper prototypes or similar (a plus)
- Experience with social and party games (a plus)
- Familiarity with popular culture (a plus)
