Your Mission

As a Game Services Programmer at Improbable, you understand the core concepts of game services and use this knowledge to expand on the backend capabilities of the platform. You interpret the requirements of the game to design and implement the services necessary to support the product. You will also work with the platform team to surface challenges encountered in developing new features.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of scalable cloud-based architectures
  • Knowledge of game platform compliance
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g. producers, artists, designers)
  • Ability to establish technical requirements from creative or design-led pitches
  • Ability to define and understand elements of game design documents and technical design documents
  • Experience breaking down the development of a system into a number of manageable tasks

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Experience with implementing features for multiplayer games or online services
  • Experience developing and working with databases
  • Ability to leverage automation frameworks
  • Experience with: Golang, Google Cloud, C#, Git, Terraform, & Kubernetes

The following would be considered an asset:

  • Experience integrating features with Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency programming in Go, C#, Python, and C++
  • Experience working with cloud based infrastructure and tools such as Kubernetes
  • Previous experience developing games for desktop or console
  • A portfolio of projects/side projects

COVID-19 Studio Guidelines

This means that all interviews, "onsite" interviews, office tours, and onboarding will be done over videoconference (or phone).
