Your Mission...

...as a Game Designer (Creature/Combat) is to create an engaging player experience through the design of compelling original content that aligns with our creative vision and available gameplay systems. You will collaborate directly with Game System Designers and will ultimately be responsible for adding those final touches of polish before players interact with the systems.

Areas of Impact

Our Game Design team is made up of a wide range of people with broad game expertise, from system design to level and encounter design. As a member of this team, you'll focus your work on our gameplay, and work on the design of enemy and creature NPCs - creating believable behaviour, engaging responses to player interaction, challenging combat, and even foster some interactions some players might see as 'adorable'!

You'll have the chance to be in an integral role in the studio and collaborate with many stakeholders, including the animation team. It will be very important that you bring your imagination and creativity to this role, and express your ideas while balancing some of the more practical creative limitations. Other areas you may impact include:

  • Provide feedback on systems design to Designers as workflow issues surface
  • Work with Designers to ideate content that respects the Designer’s system
  • Work with Design and Production in planning, tasking, prioritizing, and implementing their content
  • Create content using systems created by Designers
  • Implement feedback provided by Designers
  • Fix bugs in your content

We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following

  • 3+ years game industry experience and/or shipped titles.
  • Experienced in Unreal Engine (or similar).
  • Certificate in Game Design (or equivalent experience).

COVID-19 Studio Guidelines

The health, safety, and well being of our team members is of the utmost importance to our studio. As such, we have transitioned to remote work by default until a time at which we can safely return to the office. This means that all interviews, "onsite" interviews, office tours, and onboarding will be done over videoconference (or phone).
