LA’s premier esports organization is looking for an experienced and passionate VP of Sales responsible for driving revenue growth for Immortals, Los Angeles Valiant, and MIBR. This critical and highly visible member of the executive team will drive the organization’s sales and partnerships strategy in a fluid, high-growth industry with varied stakeholders. The VP of Sales will be a “player-coach” and demonstrate an innate ability to perform and lead all phases of the sales cycle, inclusive of assessing opportunities, strategizing on key accounts, delivering value proposition presentations, closing a sale or partnership, and maintaining ongoing client relationships. This role will lead our existing sales team and provide mentorship to and help grow our sales team. Additionally, the VP of Sales will work cross functionally across the organization, particularly with our digital, marketing, events, and content teams.

While the successful candidate may currently act in a sales leadership or general management capacity today, candidates with an exceptional track record as an individual contributor with management potential are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be comfortable in fast-paced (e.g., start-up/rapid growth) environments, capable of wearing multiple hats, serve as an internal and external brand ambassador and cultural evangelist, and inspired to provide impeccable client service to our corporate partners. The candidate should also thrive with P&L responsibility and sales goals, both for him/herself as an individual, and for the Company overall.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with strategic partners, including AEG, Lionsgate, and STARZ to create innovative packages, proposals, and mutually beneficial campaigns and activations
  • Drive company sales efforts across multiple verticals, including sponsorship, content licensing, merchandise, and ticketing/events
  • Manage company sales and service team
  • Develop relationships with key brand partners
  • Evaluate new monetization strategies
  • In conjunction with the CEO and President, develop annual revenue targets and implement sales metrics to track progress thereof, inclusive of sales forecasts, account activity stages of negotiations, pricing strategies, new business opportunities, and competitive threats
  • Identifies market sales potential and partnership opportunities, develops tailored launch strategies, assures appropriate account staffing, and delivers maximum performance from the sales function
  • Develops relationships with senior level clients to drive sales by building/positioning a client-specific and compelling value proposition at each of the levels targeted within an account hierarchy by mapping out the various buying influencers up/down/across key accounts
  • Identifies and interprets client requirements and provides guidance to the sales team’s efforts in account strategies
  • Pursues new market opportunities and ways to improve sales profitability by assessing the competitive landscape; identify a differentiated value proposition to selling the organization’s portfolio of teams, events, products, and services
  • Collaborate with other members of the executive team

DESIRED QUALITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of corporate partnership sales or activation/servicing experience in esports, traditional sports, and/or other live entertainment
  • Ability to manage all aspects of the sales cycle from negotiation to close
  • Record of surpassing sales targets and an ability to personally develop, qualify and close key client accounts, as well as coach and guide a sales team with their individual targets
  • Ability to remove obstacles that potentially impede the sales team’s tactical, strategic, and customer service success
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet commitments while balancing and prioritizing competing priorities
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude; be willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Be a “revenue junkie,” exhilarated by surpassing sales goals, and able to inspire others to feel similarly about revenue across all dimensions
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, with experience using Adobe Photoshop
