LA’s premier esports organization is looking for an experienced and passionate HR executive to help our company achieve its full potential. We are a fast-growing start-up with multiple teams and expanding workforce. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in fast-paced (e.g., start-up/rapid growth) environments, capable of wearing multiple hats, serve as an internal and external brand ambassador and cultural evangelist, and inspired to build our talent pipeline and help develop our current team members.

Responsibilities:

General Strategy

  • Advise and influence all levels of the organization on performance management, succession planning, employee retention and engagement, and other aspects of the employee life-cycle.
  • Partner closely with business units on growth strategies and cost challenges; provide HR guidance on decisions and execute accordingly.
  • Work with managers to build career paths for employees, identify opportunities for training, new skill acquisition, and career advancement.
  • Provide executive coaching to department leaders, offering feedback and advice on employee and organizational issues and effective employee communication.
  • Partner with Finance to support senior management on salary and bonus strategy, equity allotment and headcount approvals.
  • Assist with Employee Handbook updates and implementation.
  • Employee Hire and Retention
  • Act as HR liaison between employee and other HR-related functions or 3 rd parties as needed.
  • Coordinate the interview, selection and onboarding process, delivering qualified and diverse candidates to fill open positions and ensuring a superior experience for candidates.
  • Strategically partner with Team Leaders to define departmental needs to create job ads and assist Team Leaders through the recruitment process.
  • Post open positions using internal and external networks including social media and online recruiting tools.
  • Plan and execute recruitment strategies to ensure a steady pipeline of candidates.
  • Oversee Company summer internship program.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist or lead offer negotiation with candidates as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, best practices, and applicable laws regarding recruitment.
  • Provide interpretation of HR policies, benefits, practices and procedures to employees and managers.
  • Establish and lead semi-annual employee review and goal assessment process.
  • Liaise with team managers and immigration lawyers in the process of securing necessary work documents for international players and new hires.
  • Design and execute on-boarding process ensuring best possible experience for new team members.
  • Special Projects as requested.

Internal and External Company Initiatives:

  • Plan and execute all corporate events including employee screenings, holiday events, and philanthropic efforts.
  • Develop outreach and community relationships.
  • Drive employee recognition programs and recommend enhancements and strategies to continuously develop and improve.
  • Partner and work closely with various members senior leadership team to ensure consistent and cohesive messaging across the organization.
  • Handle companywide employee communication regarding employee programs and events in partnership with the Fun Committee.

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years professional experience as an HR Generalist/Business Partner. 1-2 years of recruiting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Compensation, Benefits, Training & Development, Employee Relations, and CA Labor Law.
  • Strong business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Experience and proven success in working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience building strong business partnerships and executive presence, able to establish credibility and rapport with employees at all levels.
  • Project and process management skills along with a demonstrated track record of delivering results. ▪ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to coach and counsel both employees and management.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and computer skills, be familiar with applicant tracking systems, be highly motivated and approachable.
