LA’s premier esports organization, Immortals Gaming Club has a unique opportunity for an outstanding Accounting Manager, who will manage the full-cycle of the function. This role will report directly to the SVP Finance and will include the following responsibilities:
- Oversee and handle all daily payments and track and follow-up on receivables for the company and its business units
- Manage the payroll process to ensure employees and contractors are paid accurately and on time.
- Work as a liaison between external stakeholders and the company’s internal teams to handle all payment flow
- Provide support to management and internal business functions as needed (e.g. budget to actual's)
- Oversee internal accounting function including closing of accounts monthly, internal expenses reporting, etc.
- Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. internal meetings, Board meetings, etc.)
- Accounting for equity transactions, and reporting on investments using the equity method
- Drafting and presentation of financials, preparing departmental views
- Assist in year-end budgeting for the entire company
- Multi-entity consolidation and intercompany reconciliations
- Familiarity with FX transactions and multi-currency accounting
- Cash flow reporting including updating cash flow actuals, monitoring cash in bank, and preparing cash flow position
- Accruals oversight
- Firm grasp of GAAP/IFRS and ASC 606 - reviewing of Financials for proper recognition and presentation
- Accounting system management including COA updates, closing the period, and adding classes/departments
- Compliance oversight including managing and overseeing the Business License, Seller's Permit, Business Property, Franchise Tax, and Statement of Information
- 1099 oversight, including final approval before submission
- Able to liaise with tax accountants and stay on top of tax deadlines
- Corporate credit card program administration on Expensify
You'll have.....
- At least 3 years of experience in Accounting
- Experience working in a stand alone role as part of a start up/small organization
- Extremely detail-oriented with a penchant for numbers
- Strong communication skills and ability to independently manage and liaise with external stakeholders
- Excellent skills using various accounting software (e.g. QBO) as well as both MS PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to work well under pressure in an at times chaotic start-up environment with tight deadlines
- Used to working independently and autonomously
- Experience of using Quickbooks
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage others’ expectations both internally and externally as needed
- Flexibility around Board meetings, closing of fiscal year, etc. to meet all deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other equivalent professional certificates (e.g. CPA)
