Be responsible for the security of Illuvium’s core gaming platforms.

About Illuvium

Illuvium Labs is an independent game development studio based in Sydney, Australia. We develop blockchain based games for the Illuvium DAO. We have developed a strong culture of independence with our team, preferring candidates who can articulate their own vision and goals. We operate almost entirely remotely so each team member designs their own hours and work schedule. In the end all that matters is the delivered product. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the security of new and existing systems through the use of security scanners, code scanners, and manual activities like code review and penetration testing
  • Design security features such as scanners, dashboards, logs, alerts, and notifications
  • Engage with vendors to procure security tools that meet requirements in a cost effective way
  • Develop policies and procedures to secure the organisation from internal and external threats
  • Work with the technology team to design, develop and deliver secure, scalable and automated infrastructure using IaC (infrastructure as code)
  • Architect, design, and implement security solutions on AWS
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful and secure deployment in the cloud

Skills & Qualifications

  • Has 6+ years experience in the security domain, including both hands on and leadership experience
  • Experience with both hands-on engineering and also the development of security policies and procedures
  • Recognised security certifications such CISM, CISSP, GSEC, CEH, OCSP, etc., will be highly regarded
  • Experience with AWS Services including Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, EC2
  • General infrastructure experience and *nix admin skills
  • Familiarity with automation and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Gradle, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Familiarity with working in a remote/distributed team
  • Experience integrating with blockchain technologies will be highly regarded
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment such as Finance or Gambling is desirable but not required
  • A strong desire to learn new technologies and keep up to date with a fast-moving technology landscape
  • Good communication skills in both one-on-one and group settings; you must have the personal gravitas to influence the organisation in to developing a security first culture
  • Anticipate long-term issues and problems, but also build for the present
  • Work independently but also engage with the team
  • An interest in gaming, blockchain, or both
