This position is here to ensure that Game Floor equipment (consoles, PCs, peripherals, chairs, etc.) and games are running in top shape for Ignite guests to effectively frag, gank, and pentakill in the smoothest way possible. This position will utilize a range of analytical, technical, and mechanical skills to diagnose and repair our Game Floor equipment and troubleshoot our games.

Responsibilities and Functions

The responsibilities of this position will include, but is not limited to:

  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment and supporting software (Xbox OS, PS4 OS ((Orbis OS)), Windows, Mac OS, GNU/Linux, etc.)
  • Assemble and disassemble electronic and mechanical equipment
  • Inspect, identify, troubleshoot, refurbish and/or repair electronic and mechanical equipment
  • Soldering
  • Document equipment and game issues; record work history
  • Install and update games and content
  • Maintain an organized and clean Game Floor and workspace
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of parts and materials
  • Keep inventory of electronics, peripherals, tools, etc.
  • Assure quality of Ignite’s equipment by assessing condition regularly and properly reporting if conditions are substandard

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Soldering: 1 year - experience with hand tools, multimeter, and soldering equipment (Required)
  • Computer Repair: 3 years (Required)
  • Deep understanding of computer and console hardware (Xbox, PS4, Wii U, Switch) and game software (Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay, etc.)
  • Ability to bend, reach, turn, lift, climb and stock up to 50 lbs
  • May be subject to working at heights of up to 25 feet * Ability to follow established safety and procedural guidelines
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Great verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail a must
  • Experience with CMD prompt
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Understanding of the gaming and esports industry is important!

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $13 - $15 per hour, based on experience
  • Free Snacks, Drinks, and Meals on Scheduled Shifts (50% off food during non-scheduled shifts)
  • Unlimited Free Game Time
  • Part-Time position with the potential to move to Full-Time
