The Director of Digital Marketing and Engagement will be responsible for Allied Esports International, Inc.’s overall digital marketing, creative and consumer-facing narrative through use of video and editorial across the social, streaming, video and web platforms aligned with the company’s global events and properties, including HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas, the HyperX Esports Trucks, the HyperX Esports Studio (Hamburg, Germany), as well as Allied Esports’ native channels.

This role will optimize Allied Esports’ daily content and initiatives to drive fan acquisition, engagement, and retention by leveraging data, analyzing the competitive landscape, and recognizing opportunities for innovation in esports and the various video game communities/fanbases.

Allied Esports is looking for someone who is passionate about esports, gaming, social and media and understands how to use the medium as a marketing tool to tell stories and create rich social experiences within the world of esports entertainment that ultimately helps drive company revenue. The ideal candidate for this position has experience developing strategies and campaigns and developing and managing a team of content creators.

This position will be based at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas, located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, and will report to the CEO of Allied Esports.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Create and implement a global, cross-platform voice that ignites fan activity and inspires conversation and event entries.
  • Grow both the audience and engagement of the community on the collective Allied Esports platforms.
  • Create new-to-market social activations that keep Allied Esports and events and properties on the forefront of innovation.
  • Build and Manage Creative, Social Content Development, and Engagement Teams.
  • Align with the company’s Esports, Operations, and Communications team for strategy, business and partner initiatives, and creative asset support.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Define, document, and lead creative and social content and rollout strategy for a diverse portfolio of properties and content;
  • Produce content that is engaging, entertaining and shareable, and collaborate with additional production assistance as necessary;
  • Supervise planning, execution, and measurement of digital and social media programs and campaigns, as well as ongoing community management work;
  • Proactively look ahead to key tentpoles throughout the year and define strategy with lead time;
  • Implement best practices and standards across various platforms and communities e.g., Twitch, YouTube, Discord, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn;
  • Oversee integration of all social media and gamer-focused streaming platforms with the overall editorial mission of the company;
  • Understand and communicate competitor strategies, industry trends and innovation, and social analytics to ensure the company is ahead of the curve; and
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to synchronize efforts and effectively communicate goals, strategies and results

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of social media strategy, marketing and management.
  • Proven track record of creating successful digital and social media marketing campaigns.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Expert understanding of social platforms, management and analysis tools.
  • Experience covering live events in a social media capacity, including editing, publishing, and producing content from a mobile device as fluently as from a desktop environment.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the video game industry with a specific interest in esports entertainment.
  • Proven collaborator with the ability to work across multiple functions and divisions.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with talent and publicists to execute social media initiatives.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
  • Willingness to be available outside of standard work hours to accommodate the company’s global presence.
