Position at Humble Bundle

Ziff Davis, LLC, is seeking a Director or Vice President, Finance, for Humble Bundle within its Gaming industry vertical, which includes both Humble Bundle and IGN Entertainment. This position will serve Humble Bundle and plan, direct and coordinate all FP&A operational functions and ensure the quality of forecasts and earnings for Humble Bundle in partnership with the business leads, accounting team and Gaming Controller.

We launched in 2010 with a single two-week Humble Indie Bundle, but we have humbly grown into a store full of games and bundles, a subscription service with over 400,000 subscribers, a game publisher, and more. Responsibilities

  • Be a representative / voice of finance to key executives
  • Analyze the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as GMV, revenue streams, expenditures, and profit margin.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances
  • Develop and continually improve budgeting, weekly financial projections, and operating forecast
  • Ad-hoc business performance reporting
  • Present the monthly and quarterly financial reports of various units and departments
  • Implement a business intelligence tool and dashboard reports
  • Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives
  • Support management team and the Heads of Department with data-driven analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or the Sciences.
  • Graduated from a competitive two-year Investment Banking Analyst or equivalent financial analyst training program preferred.
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in finance and strategic analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial drive, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Highly proficient in financial analysis, modelling and able to use most financial systems including NetSuite, Adaptive, Oracle PBCS.
  • Able to flex and reprioritize deliverables in a fast-paced and flexible work environment

The successful candidate will:

  • Be proactive, inquisitive and curious about how the business works, and never afraid to ask questions. Be willing to challenge pre-existing assumptions for the best approach to a given task.
  • Be an open, proactive and positive communicator and have experience presenting to C-level or equivalent leadership.
  • Be open to a range of tasks and responsibilities never limited to a job description.
  • Be comfortable with change and adapting to new responsibilities in a fast-paced and ever changing job environment. Be able to pivot and reprioritize workload to best support shifting priorities.
  • Be comfortable working late, nights and weekends when required with business partners worldwide and be able to manage one’s time. Some travel required.
  • Become a trusted partner to the General Managers, finance reps and business leaders to ensure that forecasts, pacing’s, and analyses most accurately reflect the business.
  • Have an active interest in the industry, competition, and market.
  • Collaborate with teammates to enable Humble to continue being a force for good in the video game industry.
