Job Summary

With Houston Outlaws nearing end to its second season of the Overwatch League, we are looking at increasing our videography staff to help capture content, explore narratives, and further our brand through a strong media presence. With Houston Outlaws’ brand success in 2018, we hope to scale our media team to further accommodate the brand’s growth and increase our production capabilities. In this role, you will be primarily focused on developing Houston Outlaws’ content strategy, including multiple forms of branded, serial, original, gameplay, and short-form content. This role will lead multiple creative video projects simultaneously through concept development, production, and post-production.

Core Skills

  • You know the right equipment for any video task at hand, and can plan accordingly
  • You can operate a plethora of technical audio and visual equipment, including but not limited to cameras, microphones, and lighting
  • You have creative mind for set dressing, designing and modifying creative environments to best-fit content narratives
  • You are an editing wizard, turning raw footage into community-ready end products you are proud of
  • You are self-organized, cataloging and maintaining all equipment to ensure performance and availability of all inventoried technology and accessories
  • You understand the nuances of esports and the gaming industry, and can entertain our audience in a way that’s authentic to our brand
  • You’re competent in various content forms, utilizing narrative, biopic, gameplay-focus, behind-the-scenes, and can identify the proper situation(s) for each
  • You are adept at writing and editing scripts, ensuring all communications are delivered appropriately
  • You can tell stories through storyboarding, helping others understand content vision before production begins

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional audio-visual experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar programs
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field is greatly preferred
