Hotspawn is opening up for additional freelancers at this time. We’re looking for passionate esports writers who can write engaging copy about titles including CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch and Call of Duty. We’re looking for a mix of news and feature. Can you turn around quick articles reporting and explaining the news of the day, while also working on longer explorations of important topics?

In your application, be sure to include a cover letter, resume and a sample of your work (links to previously published works preferred).

Who you are:

• Proficient in creating component reviews/recaps of esports tournaments
• Proficient in at least one of CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, Call of Duty. Additional esports titles are a bonus!
• Esports fan and gamer just like us
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines

Responsibilities include:

• Pitching content ideas
• Cover breaking esports news in a timely manner
• Pitch and draft in-depth feature pieces
• Remain up to date with current esports news of your given esports vertical
• Able to cover tournament recaps, player interviews, evergreen content
• Able to reference and integrate multimedia sources into articles such as tweets, videos, and highlights from Twitch streams.
