Hotspawn is opening up for additional freelancers at this time. We’re looking for a passionate esports writer who can write engaging copy about Dota 2. We’re looking for a mix of news and features pieces. Can you turn around quick articles reporting and explaining the news of the day, while also working on longer explorations of important topics pertaining to the Dota 2 community?

Who you are:

• Proficient in creating component reviews/recaps of esports tournaments
• Passionate about Dota 2 - the competitive scene, streamers, the mechanics of the game, etc.
• Esports fan and gamer just like us
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines

Responsibilities include:

• Cover breaking Dota 2 esports/gaming news in a timely manner
• Pitch and draft in-depth feature pieces
• Remain up to date with current esports news of your given esports vertical
• Able to cover tournament recaps, player interviews, evergreen content
• Able to reference and integrate multimedia sources into articles such as tweets, videos, and highlights from streams.
