Our Central Tech Team supports the studio by building and maintaining all aspects of our game technology platform. Our goal is to enable everyone in the studio to do their best work by streamlining systems and removing barriers.
As an ideal candidate, you have strong skills in software architecture and software development. You are comfortable working on both backend and client-side systems. You fit right in with a team of people who are smart, nice, and easy to collaborate with.
What You'll Do:
- Help improve, operate, and set the vision for our platform
- Identify opportunities to formalize game-specific systems and make them easier to share
- Build tools that empower developers and front-line player support teams
- Serve as a shared source of technical knowledge and mentorship for teams across the studio
- Diagnose and fix issues in our engines and libraries
- Assist in planning the roadmap for our team
- Participate in code reviews
What You'll Bring:
- Fluency in Python, C++, C#
- 5+ years experience in a software engineering role with ownership of key technical systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science

This full-time permanent position is for our Vancouver office, located at 1555 West Pender Street in beautiful Coal Harbour. At Hothead Games, we strive to maintain a healthy workplace, and during the Covid-19 pandemic the successful candidate will have the option to work from home.
