(Closed) Web Developer
ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Originally a volunteer passion project that aimed to provide a home to people looking to work in the esports industry and a place for hiring companies to find endemic talent, Hitmarker is now the largest job platform in esports and the video game industry.
Before COVID-19 struck, we were a team of 10 full-time staff working from our office in Newcastle upon Tyne, which is in the far north of England. These days, weβre a team of 10 full-time staff working 100% remotely from two continents (Europe and South America).
Everyone at Hitmarker genuinely cares about helping people and making esports and the wider video game industry a better, more inclusive place. Thatβs why weβre all here living the startup life and working diligently day-in, day-out to provide the best service possible.
Weβve just smashed our second equity crowdfunding campaign funding target and are now looking to add five more full-time staff to our team. Weβre hoping to find more dedicated and upstanding humans who want to be part of something thatβs truly one of a kind.
In addition to a new Web Developer (hopefully thatβs you), weβre also looking for a Business Development Coordinator, Content Coordinator (Japan), and Designer. If you know anyone who might be a fit for any of these openings, please let them know!
If youβd like to dive deeper into Hitmarker, you can find all of our social links on our company page.

WHO YOU ARE
Weβre not prioritising professional experience or qualifications, but we are looking for a very specific type of human to fill this role. You should be:
A gamer. You donβt need to play a specific title on a particular device. You donβt need to be any good. You just need to love gaming and care about this industry.

Autonomous. Youβre equally comfortable diving into a bigger solo task when required to do so, and even enjoy the temporary solitude it brings.
Organised. Youβre capable of managing your daily and weekly workload effectively and comfortable prioritising your task list based on the needs of others.
Passionate. You identify as a developer and strive to improve every day. You love building useful things and getting instant feedback on how to further enhance them.
Dedicated. For 35 hours a week, you come to work to do work. We donβt expect you to live and breathe Hitmarker, we just want you to care when youβre here.
Honest. If youβve got a problem, youβre not afraid to air it. If you canβt do something, youβre upfront about it. If you need help with something, you ask for it.
Reliable. You show up on time and ready to go. If you say youβre going to do a job, it gets done. If youβve got a deadline, you do whatever you can to meet it.
